Our Programs

Bruce Awad Summer Program

A summer program in July and August for children and youth ages 6 to 21 years with a diagnosis of Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). We operate Monday to Friday in the months of July and August. The program is highly structured with a consistent daily routine. Emphasis is placed on communication, socialization, behaviour management, daily living skills, and community activities. A one-to-one or two-to-one client to support worker ratio is maintained for a safe and happy environment. More detailed information on the Summer Program is available here.

Resource Lending Library

Please note that due to a diminishing utilization of the library and funding limitations, new material has not been added since 2015. Although we don’t have any recent publications, many items are still relevant and helpful.  If you are interested in visiting the lending library, we ask that you make an appointment by email. Once your email request is received, we will contact you to arrange a day and time.

Our Library was established in October 2004 with approximately 100 resources. Today we house over 900 autism related items available for lending. In addition to books we also have DVDs, Books on CD, games and software available to borrow for a three week loan period. There are no borrowing fees or memberships required.

Thames Valley Children Centre has also provided a number of their School Support Program Resources including the Student Awareness Kit, the Visual Strategies Kit, P.E.E.R. Pals Mediated Program Kit, the Transition Planning Kit, the Reinforcement Kit, Camps on Track Peer-Mediated Social Skills Program and more. Teachers are encouraged to borrow these materials for classroom use. If you would like more information please email or call 519-966-7283.
