2025 Alishia Liolli Leadership Award Recipients
The Alishia Liolli Leadership Award is presented annually to Bruce Awad Summer Program staff member who best encapsulates Alishia’s character and displays dedication, compassion and initiative while surpassing all expectations. This year marked the first year that the awarded was presented to two very worthy recipients — one at our Essex Program and one at our Windsor Program.
Our Essex Recipient is Joanna Dounias (pictured above on the left with Jeremy Orton and Jillian Fenech). Joanna has been working at ASI for four summers now, after starting as a student support worker in 2022. Asked why she dedicates her summer to working at the Essex Program, Joanna replied “I love the program as it allows me to build meaningful connections with the students in a positive and fun environment. Seeing their growth, even over just six weeks, is incredibly rewarding and something I truly value!”
Our Windsor Recipient is Acacia Carter (pictured above on the right with Alishia’s mother and grandmother). This is Caci’s third year at the Summer Program. Asked why she dedicates her summer to working at the Windsor Program, Caci replied “I work at this program because I love to make connections and build relationships with the campers and their parents within our community. There is nothing better than seeing a smile on someone’s face and knowing you were part of making that happen. This program means the world to me because it provides me the opportunity to interact with likeminded individuals, share my positivity, and most importantly have fun. My future goals are to continue working at the camp and become a permanent employee in the Catholic School Board.”
Congratulations to Joanna and Caci, two very wonderful souls — just like Alishia!
