Why Donate

Your Donation Helps People in Windsor-Essex

  • We are a locally run and operated charitable organization. One hundred percent of your donation will stay in this community.
  • We are the area's only organization to offer a 7-week summer support program that provides one-to-one care for children ages 6-21 yrs. with high needs autism.
  • We operate the community's only Autism related Resource Lending Library.
  • We sponsor workshops, seminars and webinars and provide other services to area individuals and families affected with autism.

How Will Your Donation Help

  • The cost of the 7 week program is approximately $6,500 per person.
  • Ninety percent of the cost is to supply specialized support workers who provide the 1:1 staff to client ratio that is critical to the success of the program.
  • Your donation will help maintain the highly structured learning environment which is designed to enhance the individual's skill as well as their quality of life.
  • Currently seventy-five percent of program costs are government funded but in recent years this amount has been declining. At the same time, operating costs have been increasing. As a result, program users fees paid for by families have gone up. Your donation will help keep user fees affordable.
  • The needs of our community are growing. Last year we received 80 applications for 50 available positions. Our goal is to one day accomodate all individuals who need our services. Your donation can help make that happen.
